Naturalization Attorney In Ontario, California

What Do I Need To Do To Apply For U.S. Citizenship?

After holding a green card (lawful permanent resident status) for five years, many individuals are eligible to apply for United States citizenship through the naturalization process. In some cases, those who are married to U.S. citizens may qualify after three years. Applicants must also meet additional requirements, including continuous residence in the U.S., good moral character, and the ability to demonstrate basic knowledge of the English language, U.S. history, and how the U.S. government functions.

Successfully completing the naturalization process allows you to enjoy nearly all the rights and responsibilities of U.S. citizenship. While the process can feel overwhelming, having clear guidance can make a meaningful difference.

Cierra Wilson, an immigration attorney based in Ontario, California, works directly with clients who are considering naturalization. She helps individuals understand eligibility requirements, prepare their applications, and move through the process with confidence. If you believe you may qualify for U.S. citizenship, contacting Cierra Wilson can help you take the next step toward becoming an American citizen.

How Do I Start the Process?

During your initial consultation, Cierra Wilson will review your background to determine whether you meet the requirements to apply for U.S. citizenship through naturalization. If you are eligible, she will guide you through the information needed to complete Form N-400, the official application for naturalization.

Cierra also helps clients identify and gather any supporting documents required for their application and explains what to expect during the naturalization interview, including the types of questions that may be asked. Once everything is prepared, she assists with completing and submitting the N-400 to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

If you are ready to begin the process of applying for U.S. citizenship, scheduling a consultation with Cierra Wilson can help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

What Will Happen at My Interview?

For your naturalization interview, you will need to bring your green card along with a valid state ID or driver’s license to confirm your identity. During the interview, a USCIS officer will review the information you provided on your Form N-400 and ask you to confirm that it is still accurate. If anything has changed since you filed your application, you will be asked to explain those changes and provide supporting documentation if required.

The officer will then ask questions similar to those you may have encountered during your green card process. You will also complete an English reading and writing test, followed by a civics exam consisting of 10 questions about U.S. history and government. Answering at least six questions correctly is required to pass.

While the interview may seem intimidating, preparation can make the process much more manageable. Cierra Wilson helps clients understand what to expect and prepares them for each part of the interview so they can approach the appointment with confidence and peace of mind.
